The rise of the digital economy is driving digital innovation across all sectors and generating large numbers of jobs in the ICT value chain. As consumers and creators of content, young Africans have the potential to be at the forefront of the digital revolution.
The youth population is bursting with energy, creativity and talent which is the fuel for the ICT sector. However, they lack the infrastructure, skills and work experience to access the full range of employment and entrepreneurial opportunities offered by the fourth industrial revolution. It is estimated that ICT accounts for only one to three percent of university enrolment in Africa.
This course is aimed to close the skills gap, targeting youth and workers, focusing on girls and women, mobilizing networks, and providing real-world digital skills training to potential and existing workers.
